Ceramic Care

Handle with love, not white gloves.
Our ceramics are made to be used — but a little care keeps them looking their best for years.

Do:

  • Hand wash with warm water and mild soap
  • Dry with a soft cloth right after washing
  • Let new pieces "settle in" — use for cold/room-temp drinks first before hot ones

Avoid:

  • Microwave and dishwasher (glazes can dull or crack over time)
  • Sudden temperature swings (don't go from fridge to stovetop, or hot straight into cold water)
  • Abrasive scrubbers or bleach-based cleaners

A few quirks that make it special:

  • Slight variations in glaze, colour, or texture are part of the handmade charm — no two pieces are exactly alike
  • Minor glaze crazing (tiny hairline lines) can appear over time with hot liquids — it's normal and doesn't affect use

Damage and Returns

We package with care, but accidents happen in transit. If your order arrives damaged:

  • Email us at info@theoddshelf.in within 48 hours of delivery
  • Attach photos of the damaged item(s) and the packaging
  • We'll send a replacement or full refund — no questions asked

Wrong or missing item?
Same deal — reach out within 48 hours with your order number and we'll sort it fast.

Returns & exchanges:

  • We accept returns within 7 days of delivery for unused, unopened items in original packaging
  • Custom/personalised items (like magnetic photo frames) are final sale and can't be returned unless damaged or defective
  • Return shipping costs are covered by us only in case of damage or our error; otherwise, it's on the customer

Refunds:

  • Once approved, refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method
